James K. Hoffmeier, the Project's Director, is Professor of Near Eastern History and Archaeology at Trinity
International University. From 1980 to 1999, he was on the faculty of Wheaton College. A graduate of Wheaton
College, he received his MA (1975) and PhD from the University of Toronto (1983). Prior to beginning investigations
in North Sinai in 1994, Hoffmeier worked with the Akhenaten Temple Project in East Karnak (Luxor, Egypt).
